Process
Before you even hire us, let us sit down and brainstorm. Let us meet at your place, or ours, or do a conference call on our toll free line. We will come up with a budget that fits your needs. Act One will then involve you in every step of the process. We will get your ideas and work with you to create a script. Along with our own in-house writers, we can also connect you with a seasoned scriptwriter.

For the shoot, we will call on our team of specialists to best meet your needs: Producers, directors, camera-operators, lighting & audio technicians. Again, you will continue to be there to make sure what we put on tape is what you want. Your budget will dictate whether we shoot at your facility, outdoors or in a studio. You will watch as our technicians set up all of the necessary equipment that will be required to give your finished video the correct look, lighting and sound. This is where we take your concept and bring it alive. 

We can work with Tom Cruise, your niece Janet who starred in her high school play or a local professional who specializes in on camera work. Your budget will always dictate how professional your finished tape is going to look.

Editing. This is where the real magic is done. One of our talented, creative & friendly editors will mold your footage into the finished project. The raw footage from your shoot will be brought into one of our editing rooms. There you will work with one of our creative editors to re-arrange and massage the footage from the shoot into a finished tape. Almost anything can be added in or removed, including: titles, music, animation, 3D effects, charts, graphs, still photos, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, existing video footage and professional narration. We also offer compression services, if your final cut is to be uploaded to the internet or the format needs to be changed.

Once the final cut is approved and the master is made, Act One can make as many copies as you need from 1 to 1,000,000 on DVD, CD, VHS, Blu-ray, DVCam, MiniDV, BetacamSP, and now DVCPro. Our full service duplication department can provide custom labels and packaging of any kind. CD, DVD and Blu-Ray "replication" is also available at very competitive prices. We can distribute and ship your media to the local television stations in San Diego or throughout the world.

Act One can arrange to show your video to your meeting, seminar, training session, convention or teleconference. We can create the type of presentation that would fit your venue. Whether it is one TV monitor or two huge suspended screens in an arena, they will make sure your intended audience is impressed.

We have all levels of video equipment from a simple camcorder to broadcast quality formats and film production. As we have produced a large variety of videos, we have extensive resources to special lighting, jib and audio equipment. We also offer various formats depending on your final viewing requirements from SD (standard definition 480) – HD (high definition 720 & 1080) and on DVCPro, BetacamSP, DVCAM, DV and Film.
